Rabbi Dovid Spetner
As Rosh Mosad (President), Rabbi Spetner oversees all of the operations of the Cincinnati Community Kollel. A fifth-generation Midwesterner, Rabbi Spetner served as a congregational rabbi in Richmond, Virginia before moving to Cincinnati in 1995 to help establish the Kollel. His wife, Chaya Gittle, is an active mentor in Partners in Torah.
Rabbi Meir Minster
As Rosh Kollel (Director), Rabbi Minster’s mornings are spent leading the studies of a new Kollel initiative, wherein members of the community are welcome to join to study the Torah’s monetary law, known as Choshen Mishpat. He leads as well the afternoon studies of the staff scholars and has been delivering a daily Daf Yomi class since the Kollel’s founding twenty five plus years ago. His wife, Aviva, is involved in many aspects of women’s outreach and education.
Rabbi Chaim Heinemann
As our newest Rosh Kollel (Director), Rabbi Chaim Heinemann looks for new ways to enhance the staff’s own learning, create new opportunities for the community to benefit from the Kollel, and is always ready to help those in need of halachic guidance. He now directs the Staff Scholars in their morning studies. The Sunday brunches that he initiated regularly draw dozens of participants from all backgrounds for entertaining and informative Torah learning.
He is Cincinnati’s Certified Mohel, as well as being a trained shochet, holds ordination from several of Jerusalem’s leading rabbis and he is the treasurer of the Cincinnati Eruv. His wife, Sarah Kaila, holds a B.A. in Art and is a Graphic Designer and runs a popular early childhood program, all the while serving as Rabbi Heinemann’s right hand in running any of his innovative programming. The Heinemanns have been with the Kollel since 2011.
Rabbi Yitzchok Preis
Our Director of Outreach, Rabbi Yitzchok Preis, oversees all of the Kollel’s Connecting programs including the JTeam, College Campus and Partners in Torah, among others. A graduate of Ner Israel and Johns Hopkins School of Engineering, Rabbi Preis has become a well-known Jewish educator in Cincinnati. Just for kicks, early every morning he leads the Kollel Dirshu Talmud study program. His wife, Rivka, is a Geriatric Occupational Therapist and the gracious hostess to endless programs in her home
Rabbi Moshe Tzvi Crystal
Our Director of Operations, Rabbi Moshe Tzvi Crystal helps keep the Kollel operating smoothly by running the business office and managing the Kollel’s properties. This position followed five years as a Staff Scholar with the Kollel. His wife Chana Devorah is a psychologist who runs her own private practice.
Mrs. Kayla Soroka
Mrs. Soroka is the dynamic leader of the Kollel’s YP division, The JTeam. She organizes and executes a variety of learning and social venues in her home and in an array of creative settings. She is involved in a number of community endeavors and sits on the board of Cincinnati Hebrew Day School and the Jewish Community Relations Council. Her husband Mechael was previously a Staff Scholar in the Kollel and can still be found regularly learning in the Kollel.
